New Merch And Coaster Track Arrives At Cedar Point – Valravn
In just a few days Cedar Point will be making their big announcement on what’s coming to the Sandusky, Ohio park in 2016. The announcement will take place on Wednesday, September 9th at 9 AM EST at the Jack Aldrich Theatre at the park.
There’s been a lot of speculation and rumors about what’s coming between talks of a new dark ride to discussions of a new record breaking wood coaster, plus a coaster timeline build up. Well, we have some clues and photos of what is coming. Earlier this year we learned that Cedar Point trademarked the name Valravn, which we believe is the name of the new… Dive Coaster!
We visited the park today and came across some interesting things. First we found this new shirt on the shelves for HalloWeekends that features a dive coaster. Coincidence? Probably not..
Zoomed in, you can really see the details.
On our way out of the park, we noticed some track pieces being delivered to an off site location. It’s safe to say there will definitely be a new coaster at Cedar Point in 2016. The new sections being unloaded resemble what B&M uses for building dive coasters.
Currently, there are only two dive coasters in the United States. One is installed at Busch Gardens Tampa while the other is at Busch Gardens in Virginia. While Valravn would be the third install in the states, in true Cedar Point fashion, it is rumored to break multiple coaster records.
The digital track rendering above was also leaked from a Cedar Point cellphone app that has since been disabled. The track’s layout features steep hills and multiple inversions resembling a dive coaster. If the rumored track layout designs are true, we are in for one incredible record breaking ride! Hopefully the park will step up their themeing as this could be quite unique diving down into buildings or even into / under water.
Wednesday select media and guests were invited to the big announcement. We will be attending the announcement and will be reporting LIVE! So watch out socials closely!!
Until it’s officially announced on Wednesday, we will just continue saying it’s a rumor.. but the clues are all there.. and have been for quite some time 🙂
On another note, the coaster timeline on the construction wall was also changed around over the weekend…
