Documents Indicate New Coaster Coming to Canada’s Wonderland

We just turned over a pretty nice rock in Canada eh! Notes from the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s January 12, 2018 meeting include documents that indicate Canada’s Wonderland will be the recipient of a shiny new coaster in the near future! The document, a summary of the executive committee meeting, states that the park was seeking to install a bypass channel in order to build the coaster between Windseeker and Vortex.
In regards to the ride itself, the document elaborates the ride will consist of an underground tunnel and nine piers within the floodplain in question. Rumors have been flying around the past few months that indicated Canada’s Wonderland was looking into purchasing a large B&M Inverted coaster — similar to the Banshee design at Kings Island. So this could be just that…
The permit issued is for the period of January 12, 2018 to January 11, 2020, which narrows down the timeline for the new coaster to open for the 2019 or 2020 season. This is very exciting news to say the least and we can’t wait to learn more about this mystery project!
