Quaker Steak and Lube Coming to Cedar Point in 2015
Cedar Point, The amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio is known for being the home of many record breaking roller coasters. In 2015 the park is adding another set of wings.. Already known for great wings thanks to its ultra-popular GateKeeper wing coaster, Cedar Point will be home to wings of the edible kind when the park opens a new Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant in 2015!
The Pennsylvania based chain is most famous for it’s chicken wings and automotive themes. The Award-Winning franchise Quaker Steak & Lube is known for its Best Wings USA and more than 25 sauces that come in a full range of flavors from Louisiana Lickers to Triple Atomic. In addition to Award-Winning chicken wings, The Lube also features specialty salads, burgers, ribs and an extensive kids’ menu. Legendary desserts and a full-service bar round out the entire dining experience.
With Coaster Nation being based in Pennsylvania, our crew has visited Quaker Steak restaurants many times and LOVE IT! They offer some of the best wings in the country in our opinion. That’s huge considering this is a chain restaurant. Quaker Steak and Lube was featured on multiple tv show specials with a recent visit by Travel Channel’s Man vs Food with Adam Richman. Richman took on the Triple Atmoic Hot Wing Challenge. The challenge was to consume six “Atomic” chicken wings, at the time the strongest wings on Quaker Steak’s menu. Adam completed the challenge in the allotted time and was awarded a commemorative bumper sticker and a place on the restaurant’s “Atomic Wall of Flame“. Hopefully they will have this or a similar challenge at the Cedar Point location.
Cedar Point spokesman Bryan Edwards said:
“We think our guests are really going to enjoy it. It really helps us diversity our offerings out there, and that’s our goal.”
Founded in 1974 and built in an abandoned gas station in Sharon, Pa., Quaker Steak & Lube has expanded to 60 locations throughout the United States and Canada. The compelling décor, including race cars suspended from the ceilings, motorcycles, Corvettes and motor-themed memorabilia, combined with it’s craveable food and SuperCharged events, has created a cult-like following for The Lube for 40 years.
Chris Miller, vice president of food and beverage for Cedar Point said:
“Quaker Steak & Lube will be a great addition to our restaurant lineup. Our goal is to provide our guests with the best food options during their visit to Cedar Point and adding an outstanding restaurant like Quaker Steak & Lube helps us accomplish that.”
The new restaurant will be located adjacent to Castaway Bay indoor waterpark/resort replacing the former TGI Fridays. It’s scheduled to open in May of 2015.
