INTAMIN To Build The World’s Tallest Roller Coaster
Orlando is set to host the World’s tallest roller coaster! US Thrills Rides and Joshua Wallack has officially announced that they will be partnering with one of the elite coaster companies to build the record breaking ride that is set to debut in 2018.

US Thrill Rides has announced that they will be partnering with the Liechtenstein-based coaster company Intamin Amusement Rides! Intamin will be the supplier of the record breaking 500+ foot tall Skyscraper at the Orlando Skyplex on I-Drive.
“This is a very important milestone for the development team,” says Joshua Wallack, one of the principle developers of the $460 million dollar Skyplex project in Orlando, FL. “After over a year of extensive design and engineering work focusing on the recordbreaking track layout and rider experience, as well as an extensive industry review, we are very excited to announce the supply contract award to Intamin, one of the world’s premier roller coaster manufacturers.”
“We could not be more pleased to have Intamin and International Amusements Inc. on board to manufacture the ride component of the Polercoaster (Skyscraper) attraction here in our own backyard,” says Orlando, FL based Bill Kitchen, founder of US Thrill Rides and inventor of the Polercoaster. “Intamin has a very well known reputation in building record-breaking roller coasters. We are proud to have a assembled such a world-class team to build this icon.”
Also being installed on the same property is a massive 450-foot drop tower, a ginat SkyFly zip line, new 350 room hotel, a surf park, and a really REALLY big parking garage! You would think we are speaking about Texas here with all the BIG talk.. But, there’s more! Also being built is a huge retail area and nightlife experiences that will also be in complex.
S&S Worldwide was originally announced as the supplier in 2013 when the Skyscraper project was announced, showcasing a layout over a mile long and 450 ft. tall, with 7 swooping inversions and speeds over 50 mph. Based on concept rendering, it appeared that S&S would be using their El Loco style design to complete the custom roller coaster. No word was given as to why S&S was removed from the project and Intamin was put in their place, it could have been anything from S&S dropping out of the project all together or they could have simply been outbid by Intamin. No stranger to huge coasters, Intamin currently holds the record for the world’s tallest coaster! (Kingda Ka Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson NJ)
The original S&S coaster design POV can be watched below, but with Intamin on board, expect some changes.
Construction is expected to begin this October, with a completion date sometime in the Spring of 2018.
