Documents Indicate New Coaster Coming To Kings Island

Over the last few seasons, Kings Island has been is in the midst of a large expansion process. The recent additions of Banshee, Mystic Timbers, and Coney Bar-B-Que have put Kings Island in the national spotlight. However, documents suggest that there are more key additions in the upcoming years.

In a Notice of Commencement submitted to the Warren County Recorder last Tuesday, the park indicated projects were planned for both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. However, among the corporations listed in the document having received a contract for an upcoming project is the Swiss Coaster manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard.

Bolliger & Mabillard is best known for their award-winning hyper/giga coasters such as Diamondback and Fury 325 at Carowinds. This fact is noteworthy due to all the long-standing rumors surrounding Kings Island receiving a Giga Coaster.

There’s a very good possibility this is the B&M coaster that was originally planned to be installed at California’s Great America. (CGA project seen here). Although that ride was designed to be 236ft tall, It does not have to be. It could easily be redesigned to fit any plot of land at Kings Island, and very well could be redesigned as a GIGA coaster.

Although this is some solid information, remember, documents do not always mean it will happen, so until it is officially announced by the park, take it with a grain of salt…
