Palace Playland Opening Two New Coasters In 2018
Palace Playland, known as “New England’s Only Beachfront Amusement Park,” is going all out for their 2018 season. The park has is adding not one, but TWO coasters for the upcoming season.
The park is replacing their old S.D.C. Galaxi Coaster that has been a staple at Palace Playland for more than 20 years. The new coaster is a Preston & Barbieri creation called the Sea Viper. The ride is the first installation of their Anaconda 2.0 line of coasters. Twice the height of the Galaxi, the coaster will stand over 70 feet tall, have a length of 1541 feet, and reach a top speed of over 42 MPH.
The second coaster the park is adding is a SBF Spinner called Wipeout. This coaster will take riders through 370 feet of track while their cars constantly remain spinning. The ride will look similar to the image below. You may have also seen this in our posts from IAAPA, where it was displayed on the tradeshow floor.
Sea Viper is expected to open on April 12th followed by the new Wipeout coaster in June. For tickets and more information, visit the official Palace Playland, website by clicking here.
